# How to edit or deactivate a product

Edit a product when price, stock, SKU, supplier or status changes. Deactivate it when it should no longer be available for sale or use.

## 🚀 Step by step
1. Open **Products**.
2. Search for the item.
3. Open the product record.
4. Click **Edit Product**.
5. Update category, unit, SKU, barcode, prices, stock or supplier.
6. To stop using it, change the status to **Inactive**.
7. Save the changes.

## ✅ Expected result
The product is updated or inactive.

## 💡 Practical tip
If the product has sales or stock history, deactivate it instead of reusing the record for another item.
